Donations

Sail GI is a 501c3 and charitable donations are accepted

Giving to Sail GI can be done in 3 ways:

  1. Through funding

  2. Donation of a boat or other item

  3. Donating your time

Why does Sail GI need funding?

We use the money donated to pay for boat parts, maintenance, insurance, sails, covers, and all the other costs that go into boat ownership, and with supporting the boating education programs. As you can imagine, this isn't an inexpensive activity, and any and all donations are greatly appreciated. You can donate today to our PayPal account here:

We also have sponsorship opportunities available. Please contact us to discuss these opportunities in more detail.

You have a boat or other item you would like to donate?

Occasionally we are looking to add boats to our fleet or are in need of other items to help support our fleet. We will look at boats and items that you want to donate on a case by case basis. Please contact us and let us know if you have something you'd like to donate. We appreciate all offers, and apologize in advance if there are some items we are just not equipped to take.

We are actively looking for the following items:

  • Permanent Race Buoys

  • Inflatable Race Buoys

  • Large Anchors and chain for race buoys

  • 2 mooring covers for lightning sailboats

  • Sails in good condition for lightning sailboat

  • A sail for a Force 5 sailboat

  • A center console powerboat with motor of approximately 19 - 24 feet long in good working condition to use as a safety boat

  • Certified Sailing instructors

  • Helping hands to help with boat maintenance (Waxing, polishing, washing, bottom paint, motor repair, welding, and other general maintenance.)

  • Helping hands to help rebuild a Force 5 sailboat

  • Helping promote Sail GI

  • Help as safety boats or race committee boats for the Rum Races
